A group of co-worker was gathering around the water cooler at work talking about sex and the topic came up. Is masturbation a sin. Can you locate it in the word of God. What do you think? Please feel free to leave a committ.

Matthew 5:27-30 is pretty clear to me. First of all, it is impossible to masturbate without pulling images into your mind. So you have to lust whatever image you decide to use, once this occurs, you just sinned. Second, the images that you bring in your mind are demonic in nature. You are having sex with invisible spirits and getting off on it. They are not from heaven, so they have to be from hell.
The Word of God tells us to keep our minds on things from above. When you masturbate, where is your mind?
If one is truly saved, they would not have to ask if its sin because Holy Spirit will convict them. If there is no conviction then Holy Spirit has left them and they need to get saved for real.
Try speaking in tongues while masturbating and see how it works.

What a sick conversation to have at work. I can't believe Christians would have such a talk at work. That would be an opportunity to spread the fire of God onto everyone standing around; thus stopping the conversation in its tracks. The enemy used this talk to release lust on everyone involved and it will manifest in the night on all of them. God help them all.

YES, masturbation is sin. Now does it say specifically do not masturbate in the Bible, no. But, it does tell you to "offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, HOLY and PLEASING to GOD..." (Romans 12:1) Now I don't think masturbating to an image (idolizing) is considered HOLY or PLEASING to God. So, therefore if it goes against God then it is a sin. I was addicted to masturbation for 6 years, but God delivered me from it. So, that alone lets me know that it is a sin. God wouldn't deliver people from something that He agrees with. Romans 12:2 tells us to, "no longer be conformed to this world." So, ask yourself this: how many people do you know that are in the world that still masturbate?, and you'll have your answer. The world goes against God's desires (born into sin).

Yes masturbation is a sin. It talks about it in Matt.5 Everyone who looks at woman to lust for her he has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
